# QuotaPerch 0.8.0 RC Installer update — 14 October 2026: double-click guided setup checks prerequisites, offers Apple’s free build tools, detects an already-installed version, shows build progress, asks before closing the installed app and saves a troubleshooting log. Existing apps are backed up before replacement. The app remains version 0.8.0 build 10; this update changes installation scripts and guidance. Paid Apple Developer enrolment and the public signed installer are on hold. Released as source for local evaluation on 14 October 2026. Supplied by Robin John Custance, Australia, ABN 77 305 956 832. Support: robin@robsaitools.com. ## Build 10 update A visible **Visit my website** button in the main panel opens https://robsaitools.com/. The Buy me a coffee button remains separate; Help & release notes still opens the QuotaPerch guide. ## Build 9 update The app now includes an optional **Buy me a coffee** button linking to https://buymeacoffee.com/robincustance. It opens the existing support page in your browser and does not take payment inside the app. ## What changed - Remaining spendable credits now appear alongside the main weekly allowance. Decimal provider values are preserved internally and rounded for display. Zero, unknown, unlimited and a positive balance below one credit are distinct states. - Choose weekly allowance, credit balance, or both in the menu bar. Weekly remains the default. - Automatic reload is labelled **Status unavailable**. The current Codex account interface does not expose its on/off setting; use Credits in the official usage dashboard. QuotaPerch does not change billing settings. - A global stale warning covers both credits and quota. Pausing automatic refresh persists across restarts. - Native binaries inside known official npm Codex packages are discovered without running the Node launcher. Existing executable approval, ownership, permission and fingerprint checks remain in place. - The panel avoids repeating the main weekly window, adapts to available screen height, shows reset detail status, and uses colours suited to light and dark appearances. - Support summaries include credit readings. Optional local history remains limited to quota windows, without adding spendable balances or account email. ## Verified for this candidate | Check | Result | | --- | --- | | Swift core, protocol and safety tests on Intel | PASS — 80 tests | | Intel and Apple-silicon compilation | PASS — universal binary | | Local ad-hoc signature verification | PASS — not a Developer ID signature | | Intel live quota and credit decoding | PASS — read-only existing account connection | | Native panel rendering | PASS — actual SwiftUI view with labelled synthetic sample data | | Apple-silicon execution | NOT RUN | | Developer ID signing and Apple notarisation | BLOCKED — signing identity not available on the build Mac | | Clean-Mac download and Gatekeeper acceptance | NOT RUN | | Complete interactive menu, login-item and notification acceptance | NOT RUN | The website screenshots show sample values, not Robin’s account or a billing statement. A build for an architecture is not proof of execution on that architecture. No signed public installer is offered for this candidate. ## Download and update Get `quotaperch-0.8.0-source.zip` from https://robsaitools.com/downloads/ and compare its SHA-256 with the supplied checksum file. The source package contains the app, tests, local build/install scripts, release scripts, terms and evaluation licence. No Codex executable or account credentials are bundled. Unpack the new source folder and follow https://robsaitools.com/quotaperch/install/. Double-click `Build and Install.command` for guided setup. Developers may run `swift test`, then `bash scripts/install-local.sh`. The local installer builds and verifies a replacement before moving the old app into a uniquely named backup folder. Preferences are retained; QuotaBar and Codex login files are left alone. The app remains read-only: it sends initialisation, account-read and rate-limit-read requests. It does not submit prompts, spend resets, buy credits or change automatic reload. Provider readings may be delayed or unavailable. Use the official dashboard for consequential account decisions.
